When Carole Henry heard Elton was coming to Mackay in September, she had an idea.
The owner of La Solana Holiday Units at Blacks Beach decided to send out a Facebook post to all of the country area around Mackay, and as far north as Bowen. Within 15 minutes, her phone began ringing, and she is now fully booked for that weekend. But she’s holding on to some extra EJ tickets in anticipation of offering a special concert and accommodation package.
Richard Condon, general manager of Potters Oceanside Motel, has also been impacted.
He tells Eltonjohnworld.com:
”We have been booked out all 57 rooms since early March for Elton’s concert here in Mackay.
”We are providing courtesy bus transport to the show. As the crow flies, we are about 3klm from the venue, so hopefully if the wind is blowing in the right direction, we should hear the concert!”
