This is the final day fans can take part in an auction of a unique medallion to raise funds for the Elton John UK Charitable Foundation.
The silver coin was hand-engraved by the Royal Mint’s chief engraver, Gordon Summers, as well as being lasered using state of the art technology. It weighs 5 kilos and has gold plating applied at Asprey of Bond Street, London.
The piece contains the titles of some of Elton’s best-loved songs in a spiral motif mimicking grooves of a record on one side, with a replica of last year’s coin honouring the Rocket Man on the other (artist Bradley Johnson‘s depiction of the entertainer’s glasses and straw boater hat, created as part of the Royal Mint‘s Music Legends series).
