To celebrate the Rocket Man’s career and raise funds for the Elton John UK Charitable Foundation, the Royal Mint is holding an auction today.
The top bidder will receive a Royal Mint handcrafted silver medallion–as pictured with Elton. It includes titles of evergreens like Crocodile Rock and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
”It’s beautiful and really impressive and also humbling to see so many of my songs depicted in this way. Seeing my autograph engraved so precisely on the coin just goes to show the detail that’s gone into the piece–it really is a thing of beauty and I’m proud to put my name to it,” Elton wrote.
Fans will recall that coins depicting Elton’s glasses and straw boater hat were created by artist Bradley Johnson for the Royal Mint’s Music Legends series in 2020.
